About Me
I'm Amlan — a product and technology professional who builds systems, plays heavy guitar, and reads philosophy for fun.
Nine years in US healthcare technology, mostly inside large payer ecosystems. I've shipped AI products, led enrollment platform architecture, run innovation labs, and closed deals — sometimes in the same week.
Currently based in Bengaluru. Side-building at 2 AM. Probably over-engineering something.
// career
Timeline
Led AI/innovation product development at the Bengaluru Innovation Hub — 8 use cases shipped, 50+ C-suite client demos, contributions to a $20M contract win. Currently driving a Medicare Advantage HRA data platform on Snowflake.
Led development of CareConnect360, a care coordination product for Michigan Medicare/Medicaid programs. Primary liaison between client and engineering across requirements, UAT, and demos.
Requirements and use case development for web-based Medicaid initiatives across multiple clients.
South Carolina, USA. Where I learned to think in systems before I knew that's what it was called.

Likes & Dislikes
+ Things I value
- > Reusable systems over one-off scripts
- > Clear structure and practical outcomes
- > High-signal artifacts: runbooks, templates, indexes
- > Automation for quality-of-life
- > Portable, inspectable, agent-friendly work
- > Heavy guitar tones
- > Philosophy that changes how you think
- > Well-designed tools
- Things I avoid
- x Unnecessary complexity
- x Meetings that should be documents
- x Re-explaining context every session
- x Premature abstraction (ironic, I know)
- x Black-box systems you can't inspect
- x Clean tone (on guitar)
- x Cookie-cutter solutions
- x Scope creep disguised as features

Interests
Guitar & Luthiery
Heavy tones, drop tunings, and building instruments from scratch. I follow international luthiers and dream of designing my own line of guitars.
Philosophy
Stoicism, epistemology, and the intersection of ancient wisdom with modern technology. Ask the Ancients started as a personal obsession.
Music Information Retrieval
The science of teaching machines to hear. Particularly the unsolved problems around distorted guitar — which nobody has cracked yet.
AI Agents & Tooling
Building continuity systems for AI coding agents. The meta-problem of making agents useful across sessions turns out to be a hard and interesting one.
